Kerala's abundant and evergreen forests are home to some of the most exotic wildlife spotted in the entire country. Along with Elephants, Bison, Sambar Deer, Wild Dogs, Jungle Cats, Tigers, Lion Tailed Macaque, Nilgiri Tahr, and Wild Boar, Kerala offers varieties of snakes like King Cobra, Python, Viper, Krait, etc. The sighted birds include Indian Mynah, Jungle Fowl, Laughing Thrush, The Malabar Hornbill, Woodpecker, Kingfisher, Peacock, etc. To ensure the protection of these animals and birds, several wildlife sanctuaries, national parks, and bird sanctuaries have been established in the state.
